The Government of Andhra Pradesh has rolled out another welfare scheme as a part of the Navaratnalu campaign. The scheme is referred to as YSR Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme. The Department of Education has been the implementing authority of the scheme. Under the chairmanship of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, a budget of Rs. 6318 crores was set for its smooth administration for the year 2020-21. The allotted budget covered 42,12,186 mothers and 81,72,224 children.

Eligibility for YSR Amma Vodi Pathakam

Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme applies to the state’s poor mothers who wish to send their children to schools. In the pursuit of educating the kids of the state, the applicant mothers must meet the below-mentioned eligibility standards.

  • The applicant and her children must be permanent residents of the state of AP.
  • The family must belong to the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category.
  • It is compulsory to possess an authorized AP White Ration Card.
  • Students must have been enrolled in any of the classes between 1st and 12th of the current academic year.
  • At least 75% attendance is mandatory for the students in their respective schools.
  • If a student opt-out of the ongoing session, all the scheme benefits will be ceased.
  • The scheme does not apply to any parents engaged in government-based employment services.

What is Andhra Pradesh Navasakam Portal?

Under the visionary leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, an online platform was devised to help out the common public of the state. The portal was launched in the year 2019. Since then, it has been providing details and updates regarding the various welfare schemes which are being run across the state.
