Objective of Rashtriya Gokul Mission

Rashtriya Gokul Mission The Central Government has prepared a scheme named Gokul Mission to benefit the farmers and animal herders across the country. Under this indigenous bovine breed is to be developed. Along with this, these cows will also be protected. With the aim of increasing the business of farmers, the milk production capacity of cows will be increased through scientific techniques. Through the mission, we will improve the condition of the rural economy by increasing the work of animal husbandry and dairy in the country.

At present, the number of milch animals will increase, for which we will develop cows of other breeds by using high quality indigenous breeds of Red Horn, Gir, Tharparkar and Sahiwal etc. Apart from this, there will be distribution of bulls with genetic merit through the scheme.

Mission Implementation

Rashtriya Gokul Mission It will be implemented by institutions like the Livestock Development Board of all the states. Funds will be given to these institutions for establishment of Integrated Animal Centre, Gokul Gram. The State Gauseva Commission has been ordered to sponsor and supervise the proposals of SIA. Out of which there are agencies like CCBF, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, College of Agriculture or Animal Husbandry, NGOs, Cooperative Societies and Gaushalas, etc., which do special work in higher germplasm in the Department of Native Animal Husbandry.

Application Process of Rashtriya Gokul Mission

• First of all go to the office of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department.
• After this, get the application form of the mission from there.
• Now fill all the required information like your name, mobile number, address and email etc. in the application form.

• Submit the completed application form in this way in the office of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department.

Gokul Village in Rashtriya Gokul Mission

• Under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission scheme, integrated animal centers will be set up in rural areas, which will be named as Gokul Grams.
• Arrangements will be made to accommodate more than one thousand animals in these Gokul villages. There will be availability of fodder etc. to provide nutrition to these animals and to meet other requirements.
• Apart from this, arrangements will be made for at least 1 veterinary hospital and artificial insemination center in every Gokul Dham.
• Milk will be taken from the animals living in Gokul Dham and organic fertilizer will be made from their dung. New employment will be created in the village through Gokul Dham.
• High genetic breeding stock will be supplied from a centralized source to the farmers in the breeding area for the breeding program of cows.
• In villages with a capacity of 1000 animals, the ratio of milk producing and unproductive animals will be kept at 60:40.

• Bull mother farms will be strengthened for conservation of native breeds with high genetic potential.
• Field Performance Record (FPR) will be maintained in the breeding system.

• Heifer rearing programme, awarding farmers and formation of breeders committee will be done.

• Training facility will be available to technical and non-technical persons working in the institutions running indigenous animal development programmes.
