BharatNet Project 2024

Bharat Net Scheme The main objective of the optical fiber network is to reach the Gram Panchayat level. National Optical Fiber Network (NOFL) Bharat Net Project aims to connect 2.50 gram panchayats, and provide broadband facility at affordable prices. The broadband speed under this project will be 50 Mbps to 100 Mbps. The entire project is being funded by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF). Which was established to improve telecommunication services in rural and remote areas of the country.

BharatNet and its services

BharatNet is a middle mile network from Block to Gram Panchayat (GP) which provides connectivity to service providers like TCSPs, ISPs, MSOs, LCOs and government agencies to extend their services.

1. bandwidth: It indicates Point to Point and Point to Multipoint (P2MP) bandwidth from Block to Gram Panchayat using GPON technology.

2. dark fiber: Over Incremental Cable: It provides dark fiber over incremental cable laid by BBNL between Fiber Point of Interconnect (FPOI) and Gram Panchayat.
